Qawra’s Luzzu Restaurant has undergone a complete overhaul. After four months of work, the restaurant is now back in business with a whole new look and style – despite the new look, you can still find your favourites on the menu.

The idea was to create something wholesome yet stylish, an environment where families will feel comfortable while enjoying a great meal.
Luzzu was the brainchild of Claire Zammit Xuereb and general manager Joe Vella of AX Hotels.

“The inspiration behind this new restaurant was to invite clients into our kitchen – we wanted customers to get the feeling as if they were at their mother’s dining table enjoying their favourite dish. We love interior design and we looked at every detail when completing this project, from choosing tiles for table tops one would find at home to looking for the right knobs for the drawers and old stainless steel utensils displayed at the counter. We really stop at nothing in providing customers the full experience,” Mr Vella said.

Another important element in this project was to cater for families or single parents with children. Parents know exactly how difficult it is for little ones to sit through a meal.

“The children’s play area is now three times bigger than before and parents can literally see their young ones from every corner of the restaurant. We also created a menu for the little ones full of healthy options. We also have a special pantry where children are given delicious treats. We really wanted to create an all-round and stress-free experience,” Ms Zammit Xuereb said.

Luzzu is owned and managed by AX Hotels, part of AX Holdings.
