A magistrate yesterday extended two suspended jail terms after a 28-year-old man admitted to the possession of heroin during their operative period.

Reuben Scicluna was also fined Lm400 when he pleaded guilty to the possession of two sachets of heroin on and before August 2004 and to committing the crimes during the operative time of two suspended jail terms.

Magistrate Lawrence Quintano noted that Mr Scicluna had filed and early guilty plea and cooperated with the police.

A one-month jail term was suspended by another year while a one-year jail term was suspended for an additional two years.

Police Inspector Nezren Grixti prosecuted.

Lawyers José Herrera and Deborah Delceppo appeared for Mr Scicluna.
