Team Malta finished sixth in the Fed Cup Group 3 (Europe/Africa, Zone A) after losing 2-0 to North Macedonia in the play-off for fifth/sixth place, in Helsinki, Finland 

The Maltese were no match to the Macedonian in both the first and second rubber. Aleksandra Simeva defeated Krysta Dimech 6-0 6-0 while Ana Ristevska overcame Maja Glumac 6-1 6-0. The doubles match in Rubber three was not held.

Malta had moved into the play-off after finishing third in Pool A. Drawn with Finland, Lithuania and Iceland, the Maltese lost 3-0 to both Lithuania and Finland before wrapping up its commitments with a 2-1 win against Iceland.

Against the Nordic side, Maria Giorgia Farrugia Sacco lost the first rubber against Anna Soffia Gronholm 6-3 6-0.

Nonetheless, the Maltese turned the score to their favour as Elaine Genovese won 6-2 6-0 agaisnt Iris Staub and Genovese together with Farrugia Saaco overcame Gronholm and Staub in the doubles 6-3 4-6 7-6.
