A group of fire-fighters from Ghana is in Malta for fire-fighting training with the Civil Protection Department.

Their visit to Malta was made possible by the Malta Foreign Ministry under a €30,000 Overseas Development Assistance grant.

Foreign Minister Carmelo Abela and Home Affairs Minister Michael Farrugia met the group, the second to visit Malta in just over a year.

The fire-fighters are here for a week for training on the use of breathing apparatus, understanding fire behaviour and tackling industrial fires amongst other objectives.
