A car dealer from Siġġiewi has been remanded in custody after pleading not guilty to trafficking cannabis and cocaine.

Although no details were divulged during the arraignment on Saturday, before duty Magistrate Claire Stafrace Zammit, police sources said the man, Charles Borg, 45, was arrested after he was found in possession of cannabis, weighing 15 kilos.

He was also found in possession of 80 grams of cocaine.

Police inspector Anthony Scerri told the court that the crimes were committing within 100 metres of a school or places frequented by youths. The accused was also charged with relapsing.

No request for bail was made. Lawyer Joe Giglio was defence counsel.
