The police are looking into the circumstances of the death of a man whose body was found in a vacant plot in Gżira on Sunday afternoon.

The grim discovery was made at about 1pm behind a wall which borders the plot in Luqa Briffa Street.

Rescuers from the Civil Protection Department and the police were on site. A magisterial inquiry is being held.

No further information was immediately available.
