Mark Anthony Ellul, 24 of Kirkop was today granted a second suspended jail term after admitting to three burglaries which took place earlier this year.

He admitted stealing appliances and other items from a house in Swieqi; cash from a house in Birkirkara and books from a house in Balzan.He also admitted handling stolen property.

The court noted that the accused had cooperated with the police, thus leading to a number of cases to be solved. It therefore jailed him for two years suspended for three years.

In a separate case, Jonathan Felice, 20 of Qormi and Justin Polidano, 24 of Kirkop, were remanded in custody after denying stealing jewellery from a house in Safi on January 3. Mr Felice also pleaded not guilty to having been involved with two other people in a snatch-and-grab case in St Julians three years ago.

Mr Polidano denied breaching the conditions of a previous release.
