A 62-year-old man from Senglea was grievously injured on Thursday after falling from scaffolding in Manoel Island.

The police said the man was on the scaffolding to do some work on a vessel when he fell from around 1.5 metres.

He was given first aid by a medical team on site and then taken to Mater Dei Hospital by ambulance.

The police are investigating.
