A 57-year-old man was grievously injured in a traffic accident early on Tuesday.

Police said the incident happened at Ħal Fal industrial zone at 3am.

The victim, who lives in Cospicua, lost control of the Hyundai Accent he was driving and crashed into an electricity pole.

He was given first aid by a medical team on site and then transferred to Mater Dei Hospital by ambulance.

Police are investigating.
