A 50-year-old man from Żurrieq was grievously injured in a traffic accident in Siġġiewi on Thursday.

The police said the accident happened in Triq San Niklaw at around 5.30pm.

The man lost control of the Nissan Qashqai he was driving and the car overturned.

He was given first aid by a medical team on site and then taken to Mater Dei Hospital by ambulance.

The police are investigating.
