I refer to the article titled ‘Ryanair still plans to fly MAX 8’ (March 15).
The headline is highly misleading and non-factual as it does not reflect what I said and what was also reported in the same article.
What I said during the press conference is the following: “We’re awaiting the findings of the investigation, which is a matter for Boeing and the safety authorities. We have no MAX aircraft in our fleet and our flights are operating normally. We cannot speculate while the investigation is ongoing and, like all airlines, we await further instruction.”
On questions on plans of MAX delivery I stressed again that “we are waiting on the outcome of the investigations and until then we are not in a position to make any further comment”.
Our passengers’ safety and comfort is our number-one priority as we have an unblemished 34-year safety record.
