Mdina police station is to be moved across the street to Vilhena Palace after premises there used by Maltacom are vacated and returned to the government, Home Affairs Minister Tonio Borg told a parliamentary committee.

Dr Borg said that as a result of Maltacom`s decision, he would be amending a resolution on the sale of the former Naafi Bakery in Marsa to the company so that the return of the premises at Mdina would be part payment for the former bakery. The bakery was originally to have been sold to the company for Lm250,000.

The resolution, which also involves the transfer of properties to sports organisations and changes to groundrent conditions for several rural sites, is to be debated in the full House because no unanimity about it was reached in the committee.
