Michael Mifsud has completed his move to Valletta after terminating his contract with Sliema Wanderers by mutual agreement.

The experienced striker is expected to be available for tonight's FA Trophy fourth round match against Birkirkara after signing a two-and-a-half-year contract with Valletta.

This will be Mifsud’s third spell with Valletta who currently top the BOV Premier League standings.

Valletta coach Paul Zammit has made the signing of an attacking player one of his top priorities in the current transfer window after the departure of Cameroonian winger Njongo Priso who is expected to join a club in Turkey.

The 34-year-old Mifsud, Malta’s all-time top scorer with 40 goals, had rejoined Sliema Wanderers in the summer of 2014 but he had been linked with a move to a host of clubs, including Floriana, Tarxien Rainbows and Hibernians, before reaching an agreement with Valletta.
