A group of migrants left Malta for the Republic of Ireland on Thursday, the fourth group to leave for another EU country this month, the government said.

It said the relocation of the migrants was part of a commitment by EU member states to assist Malta and ease the burden on frontier states.

The Home Affairs Ministry said a number of migrants were also repatriated to their countries.
