A book on the life and times of Dom Mintoff Mintoff: Il-Bniedem u l-Istorja (Mintoff: The Man and History) , was officially launched today at l-Gharix in Delimara, Mintoff’s favourite residence.
The 608-page volume offers a wide array of analyses and studies of the life, personality, exploits and thoughts of Mr Mintoff.
Edited by Mario Cutajar, the book is a collection of 29 contributions from historians, economists, ecclesiastics, doctors, educators, lawyers, politicians, researchers, anthropologists, activisits, philanthropists, artists, writers, academics and others.
All give their views on Mintoff’s personal and political career since he joined the Malta Labour Party in the late 1930s until he passed away last August.
Mr Cutajar said that l-Gharix was chosen for the launch because of its historical importance and significance.
The book is a publication by the Sensiela Kotba Socjalisti and include 11 writings and speeches by Mr Mintoff, as well as many photographs, some appearing for the first time, from Mr Mintoff’s private and public life.
It is selling at €30 from leading bookstores.
