A diver reported missing close to the Polynesia wreck, 1.5 nautical miles off Marsascala, has been found alive and conscious but suffering from decompression sickness, the army said.

In a statement, the AFM said it was informed of the case at 12.10 p.m. and sent a helicopter and a search and rescue launch to the area.

When the diver was found, he was transferred to the vessel and eventually winched on helicopter and transferred to Mater Dei Hospital.
