A man who was reported missing last week has been found dead in Għajn Tuffieħa, the police said.

"Although at this stage foul play has been ruled out, a magisterial inquiry has been appointed," the police said.

Nicholas Camilleri, a 55-year-old man from Birkirkara had last been seen at Għajn Tuffieħa.

The police thanked the public for its cooperation.

Police dogs and an army helicopter combed the beach area on June 17 after he was reported missing.
