The Malta Football Association’s Protests Board has upheld a protest lodged by Mosta FC against the result of their BOV Premier League second-round match against Pembroke Athleta.

The game, played on February 11 at the Hibernians Stadium, ended 5-0 in favour of Pembroke Athleta but the result was annulled by the MFA Protests Board which subsequently awarded a 3-0 victory to Mosta FC.

The Protests Board ruled in favour of Mosta FC after concluding that, under the MFA disciplinary rules, the said match was vitiated.

Mr Uchenna Anyanwu, who was the team manager of Pembroke Athleta at the time of their game against Mosta FC, is facing match-fixing charges in court.

The Malta Football Association is conducting its own investigation into the charges brought against Mr Anyanwu who has already been suspended provisionally from all football activities.
