A 33-year-old man was grievously injured on Monday in an accident in Iklin.

The police said the accident happened in Triq il-Wied at 10.20pm.

The man, who lives in St Paul's Bay, was riding a Piaggo when he lost control and fell.

He was given first aid by a medical team on site and then transferred to Mater Dei Hospital by ambulance.

The police are investigating.
