A 57-year-old man was grievously injured in a traffic accident in Cospicua.

The police said the accident happened in Triq it-Tlett Ibliet at 1.45pm.

The man, who is from Żabbar, lost control of the Aprilia SR he was riding and fell.

He was given first aid on site by a medical team and was then taken to Mater Dei Hospital by ambulance.

The police are investigating.
