A woman was grievously injured in a traffic accident in Sliema on Thursday.

The police said the accident happened in Triq ix-Xatt at 4pm.

The woman was riding a Honda when she lost control and fell.

She was given first aid by a medical team on site and was then taken to hospital by ambulance.

The police are investigating.
