Msida St Joseph's 2-0 victory over Pietà Hotspurs has been modified into a 2-0 defeat after a protest filed by the latter was upheld by the Malta FA Protests' Board yesterday.

An MFA spokesman told The Times that Pietà have been awarded a 2-0 victory after the Protests' Board deemed that Msida breached rule 21 I (a) and II (a) of the association's competition rules.

The Protests' Board ruled that Msida St Joseph player Gordian Ohaegbu, ironically a former Pietà player, was ineligible to take part in last Friday's match as he was not listed on the official teamsheet.

Pietà Hotspurs lodged their protest last Monday over the ineligibility of Ohaegbu who came on as a late substitute for Karl Vella Petroni in last Friday's match at the National Stadium.

Apart from their loss of points, Msida St Joseph have also been fined Lm50.

Edward Schembri, the president of Pietà Hotspurs, and Antoine Portelli, Msida St Joseph secretary, represented their respective clubs during yesterday's hearing.
