Japan's Daisuke Naito is set to attempt a risky second defence of his WBC flyweight crown against former champion Pongsaklek Wongjongkam on Thai soil.

Naito successfully defended the world title he won from Pongsaklek in July against Japanese teenager Daiki Kameda in an ugly encounter earlier this month.

But the champion, who has shot to fame in Japan after beating Kameda, has no qualms about putting his belt on the line against Pongsaklek despite losing twice to the Thai in the past.

Hiro Miyata, president of Naito's gym, said: "Naito will go to Thailand as champion... and he'll come back as champion."
