Part of Delimara’s Xrobb l-Għaġin Bay has been declared unsafe after rocks fell from the Ħofriet Window, prompting fears of a reoccurrence.

Times of Malta reported last Sunday that swimmers in the area had noticed rocks "falling like rain"

"I have grown hoarse trying to alert people all weekend," a bather had said. "But young people in particular continue to ignore me. There are also families with children."

Those warnings have now been lent credence by authorities, with Transport Malta telling swimmers and mariners on Saturday that parts of the bay have been declared restricted and out of bounds for the time being.

“The Authority has issued a Notice to Mariners to declare this area a restricted one,” the authority said. “ Transport Malta calls on the public to avoid the coastline around the window.”
