A pedestrian was seriously injured when he was hit by a car in Naxxar Road, Birkirkara, on Monday morning.

The police said the accident happened at 10am.

The 57-year-old from Balzan was hit by a Hyundai Accent driven by a 52-year-old woman from Naxxar. He was given first aid on the scene and hospitalised.

The police are investigating.
