An intricately-detailed wooden scale replica of the Royal Navy ship HMS Fife, built entirely form scratch and crafted by hand, is displayed at the home of retired airline worker and self-confessed military history nut, Dennis Vella, in San Gwann on April 11. Mr Vella says that it takes nearly 200 hours of work to build a single destroyer, the smallest class of vessel in his growing collection, not including the countless hours spent studying plans and poring over old history books.
