The Labour Party has expressed its satisfaction at what it described as the Prime Minister’s achievement in the European Union, which for the first time bound itself with a date by when operative decisions on immigration have to be taken.

The Maltese Prime Minister, it said, had the support of other socialist European Prime Minister. This augured well for the future.

The party also thanked EP President and candidate for European Commission President Martin Schulz who remained consistent in his position in favour of Malta.

The party said that through its MEPs, it will be supporting Mr Schulz’s candidature for the benefit of Malta.
