The Malta Chamber of Planners said yesterday it supported Labour MP Roderick Galdes's statement in Parliament for planners to be issued with a warrant.

The chamber said that unless the profession was recognised and distinguished from other professions, planning would still be seen as a "mercenary activity carried out by cowboys".

It also appealed to the government to seriously consider recognising this profession by enacting the appropriate legislation.
