The Nationalist Party's general secretary, Joe Saliba, yesterday filed a libel suit against Labour Party leader Alfred Sant and the general secretary, Jason Micallef, over comments made in a statement released to the media on Tuesday.

Mr Saliba filed another suit against the editor of One News Miriam Dalli over the contents of the 7.30 p.m. news bulletin aired on One Television that same day.

Lawyer Joseph Zammit Maemple signed the suits.
