A Polish delegation led by Krzysztof Olendzki, Under-Secretary of State in the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage, was in Malta on Thursday to promote the candidature of the city of Wroclaw in its bid to host Expo 2012.

A presentation on Wroclaw was given at the Chamber of Commerce and Enterprise in Valletta by Gabriela Koprowska, a representative of Wroclaw city council. He highlighted the city's historical heritage, its architectural beauty, its modern facilities, its young and dynamic population and its convenient location in the centre of Europe.

The delegation had meetings with officials of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs as well as members of the permanent staff of the President. A letter from the President of Poland, Lech Kaczynski to the President of Malta was delivered.

The delegation was assisted locally by the Honorary Consul of the Republic of Poland in Malta, Stephen Parnis England.
