Reference is made to the article Promoting The Inclusion Of Illegal Migrants (September 28). I am expecting that such seminars will be an excellent occasion to acquire a better understanding regarding the background, the motives and targets of the migrants.

There is also some reflection that has to be made by the Maltese authorities: while doing their best to tackle the illegal migration from a flow of people point of view, another side of the matter is to prevent internal barriers being erected between the Maltese population and the migrants/refugees. The lack of knowledge may transform the fear of the unknown into pure racism.
