The Rabat health centre has been reopened after refurbishment costing €500,000.

Health Minister Godfrey Farrugia said this was part of the quality leap forward in primary health care which, he said, must be a "patient-centred experience".

The centre now has two clinics and four treatment rooms and will be offering a range of services including diabetes control, immunisation, well-baby, paediatric, podology and speech therapy.

The minister said digital X-Ray machines will be installed in Paola and Floriana health centres at a  cost of €1.2 million.

Rabat centre currently opens from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. Mondays to Fridays and on Saturday mornings.
