The story in The Sunday Times of Malta (‘Police ‘tenor’ in trouble again’, March 10), about the reinstated policeman who was promoted to sergeant and is being investigated for allegedly breaching disciplinary rules, made really interesting reading on a Sunday morning.

The best part, in my opinion, is when Michael Farrugia, the Home Affairs Minister, “confirmed that the police disciplinary board, set up as an independent body, is investigating …”

Being of an inquisitive nature, may I ask by whom was this “independent investigating body” set up?

Another question which keeps burning in my mind is how is it possible for a blue badge holder with a disability to be reinstated and promoted to sergeant? Perhaps the reinstatement board was similar to the one which is investigating the police officer’s political activity on Facebook?
