The Relegation Pool decider between Msida St Joseph and Tarxien Rainbows will be played on Friday at the Hibs Ground, starting at 7.30 p.m., the MFA announced last night.

Msida St Joseph and Tarxien Rainbows will face each other for the second time in the space of five days to decide who will be the second team to be relegated from the top-flight after Hamrun Spartans suffered the same fate last Sunday following a 2-0 defeat to Qormi.

The two teams met last Sunday in a dramatic Relegation Pool match at the Hibs Ground that ended in a 2-2 draw with Msida scoring twice in injury time to cancel out Daniel Mariano Bueno's brace for Tarxien Rainbows.

The result left Msida and Tarxien locked on 16 points, along with Hamrun Spartans, albeit the latter were relegated due to an inferior head-to-head record against the Saints and the Rainbows.

A decider was thus needed to see who from Msida and Tarxien will retain their status in the top flight for another season.
