The phase of restoration works on Romeo Romano Garden in St Venera was formally concluded yesterday with a ceremony attended by Agriculture Minister Ninu Zammit

The garden has been restored by the locality's local council and the ministry's Urban and Rural Landscaping Unit.

The garden was built at the time of Grand Master de Vilhena and the work focused on the renovation of its oldest parts.

The minister said that during works on the restoration of a well and a reservoir, an ancient reservoir was discovered. It had been built with such skill that it was an attraction in itself.

Other works included the laying of new pipes, paving, electrical works and maintenance of the garden's museum of old farming implements.
