Anton Pisani, 33, has been elected as the youngest ever Chief Commissioner to lead Scouting in Malta.

The election was held at the Malta Scout Association’s annual general assembly.

Mr Pisani observed that over the past 10 years, the Scout Movement in Malta increased its membership by over 30% and most of the groups had long waiting lists.

“This leads us to one of the biggest challenges we have, the shortage of adult volunteers to help out in the groups and the association to keep our momentum going.”

Mr Pisani joined the scouting family in 1997 and held various posts as an adult volunteer, varying from a leader within his scout group of Fgura, to International Commissioner and Deputy Chief Commissioner in recent years.

Chief Scout, George Cassar thanked the outgoing Chief Commissioner, Leslie Bonnici, for his invaluable commitment and hard work during his term of office.
