Ali bin Hussein is the cousin of Iraq's last king, Faisal II, and remains convinced that a revival of the country's monarchy could be a solution to many of its problems.

But following earlier political setbacks, he's now throwing his lot in with the election process, and campaigning for votes as part of a broad, largely conservative coalition.
