A bus and four cars collided at Triq ix-Xatt, Mgarr, Gozo at around 4.30 p.m .today but no one was seriously injured.
It is understood, however that three persons, including the bus driver and a tourist guide, were treated in hospital.
People on the scene said the bus, carrying tourists, was being driven downhill towards the harbour when, possibly after mechanical failure, it hit two cars which were pushed onto the other cars. The bus crossed the road and came to a stop against a wall, blocking the busy artery.
The eyewitnesses said that had the bus not crossed the road, it would have risked crashing down into the valley which is parallel to the road.
