Three shark-pups hatched at the Malta National Aquarium were this morning released into the sea at Cirkewwa.

The sharks are from the Nursehound species.

The sharks were hatched in a project undertakenwith Sharklab-Malta.

Sharklab is currently carrying out research as part of data collection at the wholesale fish market in Valletta.

During this research species are seen and measured and checked to see if eggs are present.

When they are, the eggs are removed and placed in a controlled environment to support development through hatching.
