A sheepish mother who dressed up her son as a shepherd for his school’s nativity play was mortified to discover that an inflatable sheep that came with the outfit was actually a sex doll.
Helen Cox, 46, from Scotland, bought the fancy dress costume on Amazon thinking she had bagged a bargain when she discovered that the kit also included a blow-up sheep.
Little did the mother know that the vendor had pulled the wool over her eyes when they advertised the set as a 'Labreeze kids boys brown shepherd costume inflatable sheep nativity fancy dress outfit’ .
Mrs Cox only discovered that she had been fleeced when her son Alfie was sent back home with the inflatable doll stuffed into his schoolbag.
The confused mother blew it up for her son to play with, only to discover that the supposed toy had eyelashes, big red lips and, awkwardly, a hole in its bottom.
“'I hurriedly popped the stopper back in so it wouldn't deflate and suddenly spotted the huge hole in the bum. I couldn't believe what I was seeing,” the mortified mother said.
After a quick root around Amazon, she discovered that the X-rated toy was usually sold as a ‘stag night bonkin sheep’.
Mrs Cox said she was now working out a way of convincing her son to part with his new favourite toy without coming across as a wet blanket.
"'I told him it didn't look like a proper sheep because it had a moustache, red lipstick and a bow on its head, but he still wanted to play with it. I couldn't think of any more reasons why not," she told the Daily Mail.
The hole, she told him, was for "the sheep's toilet paper".
Amazon was quick to react when it was made aware of the misleading advertising, and the product has now been put out to pasture.
“The product in question is no longer available,” a company spokesperson said.
