I write in relation to the article ‘The size of property’ (August 22) by Frank Salt.
May I kindly ask the author to provide the criteria upon which he based the ever so condescending conclusion that properties in Malta are much too large for the Maltese. I, for one, found it painstakingly hard to find any. ‘Raising a family’ or ‘tending to a garden’ are two that come to mind but feature nowhere in his article.
Perhaps the kind gentleman will offer up an anecdote where, as a young visionary, he was already indignantly complaining to the elders who raised him that the space provided by them for that purpose was excessive. Better still, why does the wise gentleman not reveal the size of his current residence?
One ought to truly laud the author’s kind intentions, for he would have us all live in a cruise liner’s mini-suite.
