Sliema right-back player of the month

The winner of the BOV Player of the Month award for February is Sliema Wanderers right-back Alex Muscat.

He was voted by journalists as the best performing footballer, an honour which had become elusive for Sliema players recently.

Julian Baldacchino, manager Preluna Towers Branch at BOV, presented the trophy to Muscat, who expressed his satisfaction for the achievement, stressing that his success was possible only through the support of his Sliema team-mates.

Muscat displayed his vigour during February on various occasions, when he participated with the national team in the World Cup home qualifier against Albania.

He also excelled for his club in the next two league games against Birkirkara and Msida. Apart from scoring two goals in those matches, the player displayed rapid insertions in attacking positions.

Muscat chose the Puttinu Cares as the charitable institution to benefit from the cash donation, awarded by BOV in relation to the award.
