Sochaux have appointed Alain Perrin as coach, the Ligue 1 club said yesterday.

The former Olympique Marseille and Portsmouth coach, 49, will sign a two-year contract. He replaces Dominique Bijotat, who was sacked on Tuesday.

Sochaux narrowly escaped relegation, finishing 15th in the 20-strong Ligue 1.
