CAMILLERI. On November 19, at St Luke's Hospital, ANTON, aged 41, of San Gwann, passed peacefully away comforted by the rites of Holy Church. No flowers by request but donations to Dar tal-Providenza, Siggiewi will be appreciated. The family regret they are unable to receive visitors.

FARRUGIA. On November 20, Inez, exactly on reaching the venerable age of 89, of Tarxien, former teacher, passed peacefully away comforted by the rites of Holy Church. She leaves to mourn her loss her brother Dr Jimmy Farrugia and his wife Doris, relatives and friends. - R.I.P.
The funeral leaves St Luke's Hospital today at 8 a.m. for the Annunciation parish church, Tarxien, where Mass praesente cadavere will be said at 8.30 a.m., followed by private interment at Ta' l-Erwieh cemetery, Tarxien.

FENECH. On November 21, at St Luke's Hospital, VIRGINIA, aged 86, of Balzan but residing in Sliema, passed peacefully away comforted by the rites of Holy Church. She leaves to mourn her loss her children Natalino (Natale), Louis and his wife Lucille, Valery and her husband Larry Wood, Madeleine and her husband Harry Faulkner, her step children Marthese Azzopardi, Edgar Azzopardi and his wife Alice and Charles Fenech, her sisters Nancy and Maria and her sister-in-law Rita and their respective families in the USA, grandchildren, nephews and nieces and other relatives and friends. - R.I.P.

TAYAR. ONDINA in Florence, Italy, peacefully on November 19, at the age of 92, accompanied by family members. Burial November 21 in the Cimitero Ebbraico of Florence. She will be greatly missed by her sister Margot (St Julian's-Florence) and brothers Oscar (Mosta) and Douglas (Sydney), and by her nephews, nieces, great-nieces and great-nephews in Italy, France, England, Canada and Australia.

Caring For Treasures

The Institute for Conservation and Restoration Studies of the Malta Centre for Restoration is organising a certificate course in Caring for Your Treasures and Historic Buildings to help all those in charge of collections or historic buildings to safeguard their treasures.

Tips will also be given on how to reduce risks and increase the value and appreciation of such treasures.

The course will take place at the MCR in Bighi on Fridays from mid-December to mid-February.

Maltese and foreign experts who have been professionally trained in the field will lecture participants.

The course fee is of Lm80 and of Lm50 for holders of a student card or a kartanzjan. The closing date for applications is December 6. The course will not run with fewer than 15 applicants.

ESIB post

The former president of the University Students Council, Justin Fenech, has been elected to the executive board of ESIB - The National Unions of Students in Europe - during its bi-annual board meeting held in Estonia.

Dr Fenech, together with Jean-Baptitste Prevost from France, achieved the largest number of first count votes in the election.

ESIB is the umbrella organisation of 44 national unions of students from 33 countries. Through its members, it represents over 10 million students.

The aim of ESIB is to represent and promote the educational, social, economic and cultural interests of students at a European level towards all relevant bodies and in particular the European Union, Council of Europe and Unesco.

Brussels appointment

Silvia Sciberras, assistant general secretary of the Chamber of Small and Medium Enterprises - GRTU, has been selected member of the European Economic and Social Council's foreign and external relations committee (Rex).

Besides representing Maltese entrepreneurs in the ESC group on tourism in an enlarged Europe, Ms Sciberras is one of two representatives of Maltese employers on the European social economic committee level one.

The tourism study group meets this week in Vienna to discuss the implementation and potential of tourism in an enlarged Europe with Polish business leaders and is drafting proposals for further development of tourism within member states.
