ABELA. On October 28, JOHN, aged 84, passed peacefully away at his residence in Sliema. He leaves to mourn his loss his loving wife Mae née Warrington, his sons Tony (director Works Department) and his wife Adelaide, George and his wife Justine, Adrian and his wife Alice, his grandchildren Kevin, Caroline, Christopher and Andrew, and great-grandchildren David and Adam. He also leaves to mourn his loss his brothers Joe, Godfrey, Victor, Maurice, Reggie and their respective spouses. Funeral arrangements will be announced later.

DAY - LEONARD PAUL, 24.101926-15.10.2003, ex-British Airways Manager in Malta, was called to meet our Lord after a long and painful illness. The funeral took place on October 22 at the Holy Trinity church, Hawley, UK. Fondly remembered by all past and present British Airways staff in Malta. Condolences to his dear wife Brigitte and family.

SCHRANZ. On October 28, CARRIE, née Camilleri, widow of Frederick, passed peacefully away comforted by the rites of Holy Church. She leaves to mourn her great loss her children Edward and Renate of Canada, Joan, Richard and Monica, Albert and Brenda, Maryann and Gerald Axisa, Catherine and Frank Falzon, Joseph and Monica, and Austin, her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, her sisters-in-law Lizzie, Winnie and Josephine of Australia, nephews and nieces, cousins, other relatives and friends. - R.I.P. The funeral leaves St Luke's Hospital tomorrow for Jesus of Nazareth parish church, Sliema, where Mass praesente cadavere will be said at 2.30 p.m. followed by interment at Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. No flowers by request but donations to the Ursuline Creche, Sliema, and Dar tal-Providenza, Siggiewi, will be appreciated.

Astronomy Exhibition

An astronomy exhibition is being held at Stella Maris College, Gzira, betweeen today and Sunday. It will mainly feature the planet Mars and a slide show. Telescopes, books and other items will also be displayed.

The exhibition will be open during school hours for schoolchildren and from 6 to 9 p.m. for the public.

Entrance is free.
