CALLEJA - Maria, 73, of Zabbar, residing in Marsascala, passed peacefully away comforted by the rites of Holy Church, on May 3 at St Luke's Hospital. She leaves to mourn her loss her son Twanny and his wife Marisa, her daughter Marianne and her husband Mario Ellul, her grandchildren Christian, Marco, Stephen, Alex and Matthew, numerous relatives and friends. - R.I.P.

ZERAFA On May 4, Beatrice, aged 83, widow of the Anthony, beloved mother, grandmother and greatgrandmother, passed peacefully away comforted by the rites of Holy Church.
She leaves to mourn her sad loss her children Jessie and her husband John Grima, Max and his wife Agnes, Freddie and his wife Georgina, Vivienne and her husband George Borg (residing in Canada), Charles and his wife Freda, Frankie Gatt, widower of her late daughter Agnes, Sylvia and her husband Louis (residing in Australia), Isabel and her husband David Cortelli, and Josephine and her husband John Galea besides her beloved grandchildren, greatgrandchildren, other relatives and friends.
The funeral leaves St Philip's Hospital today at 2.30 p.m. for the Sta Maria Addolorata Cemetery Chapel where Mass praesente cadavere will be said at 3.15 p.m. followed by interment. No flowers by request but donations for the missions to the Capuchin Friary, in Floriana will be greatly appreciated. The family regret they are unable to receive any visitors.

Marriage Course

The Emigrants' Commission is organising another series of talks for girls marrying a non-Maltese as from Tuesday, May 27, at Dar l-Emigrant, Castille Place, Valletta.

The 10 sessions will be held every Tuesday and Thursday from 6 to 7 p.m., with the participation of social, medical legal and ethical experts.

Young ladies planning to marry non-Maltese or Maltese migrants are invited to attend. Participants will be given a certificate to be presented with other documents to the Curia, when the couple apply to get married.

Engineering Lecture

The department of manufacturing engineering of the University of Malta will be holding a public lecture by Ian Barclay of Liverpool John Moores University at the Engineering Lecture Theatre on Wednesday at 4.45 p.m.

The aim is to help raise awareness on the design and manufacture of environmentally-friendly products in Maltese industry.

The lecture will focus on sustainable development and design for the environment and how these two inter-related approaches may be used for business growth and development through the application of "green design" principles.
