GRECH. On July 1, SISTER PETRINA of the Dominican Sisters of Victoria, aged 93, passed peacefully away comforted by the rites of Holy Church. She leaves to mourn her loss her Dominican Sisters, her brothers Pawlu, Frangisk and Emmanuel, nephews and nieces including Fr Guzepp Grech, other relatives and friends. The funeral leaves the convent of the Dominican Sisters today at 5.45 p.m. for the church of Pompeii, Victoria, where Mass praesente cadavere will be said at 6 p.m. followed by interment in the Dominican Community grave at Santa Maria Cemetery. No flowers by request but donations to Lourdes Home will be greatly appreciated. Lord grant her eternal rest.

MALLIA. On June 30, at Villa Messina, Rabat, THERESE née Scerri, widow of Francis S., aged 82. She leaves to mourn her great loss her son Albert and his wife Jacqueline, her daughters Monika and her husband Joe Cappello, Miriam and her husband Joe Muscat and Margaret and her husband Professor Mark Brincat, her beloved grandchildren Julian, Adriana, Martina, Stefania, Max, Nicolas, Clare, Andreas and Rebecca, her sisters, in-laws, relatives and friends. The funeral leaves Villa Messina today at 2 p.m. for the Basilica of Maria Bambina, Senglea, where Mass praesente cadavere will be said at 2.30 p.m., followed by interment in the family grave at the Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. MIFSUD. On July 2, at St James Capua Hospital, Sliema, PAUL aged 94, passed peacefully away comforted by the rites of Holy Church. He leaves to mourn his great loss his children Ronald and his wife Maria Pia, Norman and his wife Anna, Derek and his wife Maria, his grandchildren Ivan and his wife Maria, Mark and his wife Samantha, Matthew and his fiancée Amanda Cauchi, Caroline and her husband Mark Miggiani, Gerrard, Paul and his wife Celia, Michael and his wife Gretchen, Angela and her husband Edward Bartoli, his great-grandchildren, relatives and friends. The funeral leaves St James Capua Hospital tomorrow at 8.45 a.m. for Stella Maris parish church, Sliema, where Mass praesente cadavere will be celebrated at 9 a.m. followed by interment at Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. No flowers by request. The family regret they are unable to receive visitors. Lord grant him eternal rest.

SAYDON. On July 2, SISTER BEATRICE went to meet the Risen Lord at the age of 70, comforted by the rites of the Holy Church. She leaves to mourn her loss the Teresian Sisters of the Santa Margherita Monastery in Cospicua, the Teresian Fathers, her sisters Sr Consolata FCJ, Sr Bernardetta OCD and Sr Maximilla of the Congregation of Maria Bambina, brothers and sisters Grezju, Leli, Charles, Doris and Peter and their spouses, as well as relatives and friends. The funeral leaves St Luke's Hospital tomorrow at 8.30 a.m. for Santa Margherita Monastery where Mass praesente cadavere will be said at 9.30 a.m. followed by burial.

Archaeological Excavation

University students are carrying out excavation works in an archaeological site known as the Wilderness, where there are remains of a Roman villa, at Carlo Diacono Girls' Junior Lyceum, in Zejtun.

Those interested in viewing the excavation are invited to attend on Thursday between 8.30. and 11 a.m.
