The letter by Tony C. Cutajar (August 4 ) makes a lot of sense.

All streets in Malta and Gozo should start with the prefix Triq followed by the name of the street in Maltese.

It would help a lot if the street name is easy to read, write and pronounce. For example, you get names like Triq Imnajjar, Triq Binja Ħesri, Triq Għabex to mention a few which are difficult names for the Maltese let alone foreigners who have settled here in Malta.

I conclude this letter on a very cheerful note. As I stopped at the traffic lights at the end of the bypass entering Attard, I noticed a street called Sqaq il-Ħofor. I've never seen a street so appropriately named!
