Arnold Cassola recently delivered an illustrated talk, ‘Süleyman and Malta’, as part of the Saturday lectures at Il-Ħaġar Museum in Victoria. Prof. Cassola made reference to the archivial finds he made in his research, including Istanbul documents concerning the 1565 Great Siege.
Through ‘Süleyman and Malta’, Prof. Cassola showed a different perspective to this defining narrative of Maltese history. After the talk, Joseph Borg, one of Fondazzjoni Belt Victoria’s organisers, presented Prof. Cassola with copies of two publications available at the cultural centre.
