The government's 7% VAT charge on tourist properties should be suspended in view of industry uncertainty caused by the spread of coronavirus, the Nationalist Party said on Wednesday. 

The party said the sector was suffering because of concerns about the virus, and measures were needed to bolster it. 

"Businesses need to be supported in challenging times," the PN said in its statement, over the signature of shadow minister Robert Arrigo.
